(no subject)
so its getting cold up here. and this winter is going to suck. who enjoys walking 10-15 minutes to class in the snow? anyways i called my mom yesterday. and i was like, hey mom, i'm cold. i'm going to have to come home and get winter clothes soon and we need to go shopping bla bla. and she goes, oh so youre finally gonna come home?! thats exciting! and i was like yepp but not this weekend theres a football game. and not next weekend because i have visitors. and not the next weekend because theres another game. so first weekend in october? and then she goes, oh no honey not that weekend. dad and i are going up north with your aunt and uncle. pick another weekend.
ok mom. see you at thanksgiving. haha i love my family.
anyways i really dont want to come home. i mean i do.. but i dont. ya know? i want to see everybody and hang out and bla bla. but now i'm just used to doing my own thing at my own time and whatever. but i do want to come home. yeah. but in addition to seeing everybody, i need to take home some things i dont need that are just cluttering my dorm and bring back some things i do need. for example. there are like 10 pairs of shoes next to my closet and i consistantly wear like... 4 pairs. six of them can go. in exchange, i need to bring up dishes.
i would be the one to bring up shoes and forget bowls, plates and forks.
i am becoming a gym fanatic. lord knows i have never set foot in one until i came up to GV. brittany and i were talking about how we avoid the gym because we dont need to work out or whatever because we wont gain the freshman 15 because we dont party. i love that we make excuses for ourselves :) just like, "oh i need two desserts today because i need to reward myself.. i went to class!" God has truly blessed me with an amazing roomie and suitemates.
i'm excited to be involved. i joined this club, child @ heart.. yeaah sounds like my perfect group just by the name :) but i get to do community service and do things like put on family nights or play with kids in the homeless shelter around GR. i'm so pumped for that. kids are awesome. and i'm way way excited because i finally found a campus ministry thing i love. campus crusades for christ is amazing. i'm so glad to finally find a place to plug into. this is probably one of the best thing thats happened since i've been up here.
i wish i had a better story because people have been asking and i cant really come up with any good ones, other than falling off my ladder everytime i use it or hitting my head on the ceiling multiple times a night. dorm life, however, is pretty awesome :)
