Astrologers and Astronomers have the same arms only one is floppy and the other isn't.
kymberlynn and I will always need to practice arm maintenance when walking together. Shannon & Lilli had to coordinate arms, Celeste and Lady Dorset will as well. Hopefully though, the hat and the hoop will keep us from tangling.
Dan has a surprisingly accurate impression of me... or Celeste... or Lilli for that matter. He is an incredible mimic in terms of physicality.
At the moment Celeste lives in her necklace. Lilli still lives in the hat.
I don't know that my Lillian Grover cd ever really helped me get into character, but it did put me in a good mood and helped kick-start the day. I think I'll make a Celeste cd too.
The differences between ditzy cheerleader and absent-minded professor are mostly in terms of subject matter and focus. Type casting? Probably.
I am pleased at the amount I have managed to learn, even to the point of explaining away the "well-placed" anachronism. (on a totally unrelated side note-how is it that I can spell anachronism right on the first try but still need spell check to get through maintenance?)
There are words in the 1533 vernacular for a woman of ill repute for every letter of the alphabet. There's a primer for you.
I am often just as oblivious to my surroundings as Celeste. Scab managed to sneak up on me in the middle of an open field in broad daylight.
Having 4 out of 5 classes focus on physicality after an Apocalypse Lab the day before on the same subject will leave me very tired at the end of the day.
However it is good practice for a real Faire day.
Also, it's nice to feel successful at the end of a day. I don't have a problem with being physical. Finding my character's specific physicality is a bit more challenging, but in class, that's not as important. I can play with that on my own.
Comparison is the death of satisfaction.
Muscle memory is a beautiful thing. I couldn't tell you the steps of most of the dances cold, but once the music starts, I can usually find my way pretty well.
I've taken our French Ambassador through 6 of the 9 dances that I can remember ever doing at Court Dance (during workshops).
I'm always dangerously close to getting in trouble during the teaching of Villanella, because it's so easy to goof off when you're doing those silly little side hops. I just want to push my partner over with a "contanenza! Repraisa repraisa!" (spelling subject to interpretation.)
