I suppose the first thing I should really do is ask just precisely where I am. It's obviously not Paris, at least. Paris is a lot less.... old-fashioned. I don't understand how some of these things work, they must be ancient. Chateau-Renaud would love it, I can tell already ( Read more... )

..! It's you! If that thrice-damned Count is with you--

No...The Count isn't here. In fact...you are the only one I've seen here so far of people from back home.

He left you alone? And here I thought that that bastard actually had at least one thing precious to him.

The only one, huh? I suppose that's a good thing, then...

I didn't leave of my own will, and he didn't leave me. I am just as confused about how I ended up here as you are.

Maybe...I have been told it's very dangerous here.

..I thought it was because I'd died. Last I saw, though, you were still alive.

Hhmph. Any place you've never been is dangerous. I shouldn't think place to be any different.

This place is anything but the afterlife. I've heard the city itself brings in people from everywhere...

There are things that happen here that don't happen anywhere else I've been, though.

That's what I've heard, too. So I've really no idea why I'm here.

Oh? Like what, those curses? I heard about them too, I'm not looking forward to seeing one of them.

It's alarming...and fascinating. I have no idea either; there's no purpose for me here.

With the stories I've heard, who would look forward to such a thing? I've expirienced the clock though. I can't help but wonder what that is or where it's coming from.

....That, at least, I can agree on.

I've heard that too. The weird ticking? ...it's bizarre, isn't it?

I agree. I only hear it when I am entirely alone...It's a bit aggravating. I hear if you get a pet, or are surrounded by people, you don't hear it.

Is that so? I'll have to try that then. I'm getting sick of hearing it.
