umm. well. yesterday I also finished knitting a hat, but I totally buggered up the whole sort of top section and then undid about three hours work, so, no hat yet. maybe soon. It will be stripey, the very very cheating way!
I finished my hat today! It was a case of third time lucky; having twice 'finished' it with a great big mess in the middle, I ripped it back to the top of the straight bit again and this time, the shape's a lot better - at least, when it's being worn, it's ok. When it's just sitting there, the top goes up into a bit of a point and looks somewhat silly. I don't think the, the shaping-in bits (ooh, see my technical knowledge of knitting, I'm sure I had a better word for it earlier) are all quite symmetrical, but it doesn't show up too much so that's ok! There won't be a photo for a while, as I have no digital camera.
ok, well, this one it's just a head-and-shoulders job ... but, yes. It's hard enough to admit that you design your own embroidery stuff, saying 'oh yes, I bought this, for real money, and it's going to take YEARS OF DULLNESS', must be ... v difficult.
I've told boys about the slash thing, and they don't think I'm any odder than they did before. I think. If that makes any sense whatsoever.

That would be like ... a life's work. Imagine having to tell people that's what you did in your spare time...
Mind you, I suppose it can't be worse than telling people you write gay porn.
