law and order SVU

Yes, I know I'm walking into dangerous territory here, but I like to live on the edge.

Accident Prone by quasiradiant inspired this post because it was so surprising and so good. Olivia/Casey. Mainly Casey. I read so much Casey-bashing it was refreshing to read something so good about the klutzy ADA. Reading it reminded me of that moment in elementary school when, after playing along and/or not doing anything when your friends made fun of someone, you actually met them and they turned out to be wonderful and smart and so much better to hang out with than your lousy friends with all of their stupid rules about which kind of lip gloss to wear anyway.

Movement by aeonian. Alex/Olivia, Loss, PG-13. Another recent find. Short, angsty and perfect, spot-on Alex.

And, since I also use this LJ also as a personal holding pen for all the fics I go back to over and over, a list of more L&O SVU fic:

Spark by Harriet. A/O, R. More supersweet romance-y stuff. No angst despite the fact that it's post Loss. Alex returns from Witness Protection and girl on girl action and romance enuses.

In As Little as 48 Hours by jo2mello. A/O, R. This time, Olivia goes to retrieve Alex when Velez is killed. Not as sweet as Spark, but not exactly angst either.

Sere Nere by Monique Bartok. A/O, R. Another Alex Returns fic (can you tell I like this theme?). I know I've recced this before but it bears repeating. It's one of my favorite fics, period. probably because Alex is so pitch-perfect.

and just to throw a wrench in the A/O centric universe Harper's Thin Skull which is Abbie/Sam crossover w/Popular. Yes, you read that right. This fic has some problems (pacing!), but it also has some serious charms.

Texas Hold 'Er by Cheyne. Abbie/Olivia, strong R. I really like this pairing although why every single non A/O fic feels the need to deal with the Olivia/Alex pairing as if it were canon is beyond me. It wastes so much time that they could have spent in bed. Not a fan of the sequels, infact, I'm not really a fan of the cheesy ending to this one, but the Abbie/Olivia stuff is teh hotness.

Tabula Rasa by Janine. Toni Ricci/Abbie, R. Romance, procedural. Well-written , plus...Abbie.

There's a ton of fic (from other fandoms too) on ralst's Passion and Perfection so go and find your own favorites. :) There's also a ton more on LJ, but I am only one tiny woman adrift in a sea of fic. If you have your own faves from this fandom, please hook me up.

Also, there are more SVU recs if you scroll down and back through my recs. I'm just too lazy to put them all in one place and tags? I don't know from tags.

Also, also there are a few ongoing fics I have my eye on, but I'd never rec something incomplete so we'll just have to wait...

ETA I can't believe I forgot this one! And Playing the Role of Herself by dabkey is an incredibly long uber Abbie/Olivia. Really uber. The actresses who play characters strikingly similar (physically) to Olivia and Abbie on a police procedural fall for each other. Lots of drama and romance. Not great literature, but definitely a fun, romantic and well-written page-turner.

popular, olivia/abbie, olivia/alex, svu, olivia/casey
