So, the IV system came out of my hand today. And I am well enough to be able to think straight again. And to read stuff (the fact that even though you have all this time to lie about in bed you are not able to read anything because your brain just doesn't work beyond 'ow, that hurts' is a nasty surprise. I have my brain back now). And, they're ( Read more... )

I'm SO glad you're feeling better!

Wonderful fic! I love the thought of John helping Elizabeth wash her hair . . .

Thanks.

Seeing as I am only capable of fluff drabbles right now and in general prefer to write UST, I think I might try and take up on that JFlag musing about Sheppard having the hots for his female boss and it constantly getting in the way of doing his job and staying professional. Might be able to wring a number of slightly embarrassing drabbles out of that.

Yeah, and fanfic can take care of the postUST, with the added bonus of being able to do it over and over again in different ways and not be stuck with one fixed version of it.

I don't know why all sorts of PTB are so scared to dole out a bit of harmless UST.

Because they learned from old shows like Remington Steele, Scarecrow & Mrs. King, and Moonlighting. They did the heavy UST, then gave in to the fans and got the couples together . . . after which the shows all tanked.
BUT, I agree with you, why couldn't they give us just a little UST? What would it have hurt? It didn't need to be RST. Just enough to keep fans happy.

Yeah, you know, just to give fans a little something to obsess about. In Remington Steele the UST was way too strong from the beginning for it to *not* lead somewhere.

I think Bones is one of those shows that are doing the UST thing right. It's just under the surface and there's just that little bit of hope, but it's never at a level where fans can claim that they are justified in getting RST.

I haven't watched Bones, but that's exactly what we should have gotten on SGA . . . and it would have been quite believable.

Thank God for fan fiction!
