Agreed on FFXII -- voice acting was good in that game. A lot of other games makes me long for the old days when there were no voices. I'm one of those rare peeps who aren't too fond of the Japanese or the English. Japanese anime/game voice actors over-enunciate, and are all super-over-the-top. Some will say that that's how Japanese peeps talk. Erm, no. They sound pretty normal in live action movies. ANYWAYZ. English voice actors, for some nonsensical reason, try to emulate the JP VAs, which usually results in all kinds of "OW-MY-EARS."
