Okay. I really liked this episode for once!
First thing's first: hurray for Tracy! I was so worried they were going to throw her down the same path as Niki. She was a decent character, if a bit recycled, but they didn't waste her! She took charge and actually saved both herself and Nathan's ass. And, by the by, thank God for the death of Reverend Petrelli. I was crossing my fingers and hoping for that one. As much as I hate the direction they led Mohinder's character, I'm looking forward to Tracy and Nathan fighting him.
Next: hurray for Claire! She kicked ass this episode, and her mom is kind of badass too. I was hoping she'd bring along Mr. Muggles to kick some ass and take some names, but it was good to see the girls take down a pretty powerful villain. lol @ Claire = Barbie.
Oh, and did I mention thank Jeebus they didn't really kill Ando? I enjoy the slapstick with Hiro and Ando, and that just would've been the most fucked up decision in the history of ever. Almost. I actually appreciate the relief from SERIOUS BUSINESS that they bring us in the show.
I do have an issue with how Adam died. He was a great, manipulative villain, and it feels like such a waste to just kill him off like that. On the other hand, it was a great display of Arthur Petrelli's powers and a real shocker to boot. I did think the fact that he sucked out Adam's power, consequently causing him to die since he was so old at that point, was nifty.
I like Sylar being a good guy. No really. I do. I just wish, as is the case with Mohinder, that the progression had been more gradual. It seems like the change was close to a 180 with both of them. Here's hoping Angela comes out of her coma some time soon? I'd love to see Mr. Petrelli versus Mrs. Petrelli. It would be EPIC.
The final scene in the show was amazing, in my opinion. Just because Peter was getting way too powerful, and I didn't like him having Sylar's power anyway. It was a good way to take him down a few billion notches without killing the character off. They'd almost written themselves into a corner with him having to find new ways to keep him out of the show or give him villainous qualities...
But I'm excited for the first time to see the next episode! All in all, I really enjoyed this one. Crossing my fingers and hoping that the cool continues. I don't think anything will ever trump season 1, but it can at least not suck donkey balls. And I'm hoping it won't. :D
