Yesterday was absolutely peachy. Joe and I shoved off to Patrick's around half-noonish, stopped at Whole Foods to get a watermelon. The booze-by-the-pool was fantastic. We tried to soak the watermelon with gin, but it was steeping at the speed of a melting polar ice cap, so Karen (girlfriend of Patrick) and I went to go get a blender, some ice, and some ice cream. We succeeded after an hour and three stores. When we arrived, we created weird strawberry-watermelon-tequila-gin smoothie frothy things, which were delightful (and which, the men insisted, were not girly at all). I also saw bits and pieces of 'Six-String Samurai', which is an awesome film. Go rent it. Death is totally metal. Erm... there was much swimming and splashing and attacking with sunscreen, and a whole lot of drinking, later followed by pizza. All in all, it was a really, really fantastic day (despite being typically Californian and summery). Best part: Patrick adores Joe, which is awesome, because Patrick hates everyone. Anyway. Today we're going to the Lawrence Hall of Science!
