Ys Book I & II (Wii Virtual Console - TG-16 CD, 2nd completion)

Jan 03, 2020 23:52

This was my second full playthrough of Ys Book I & II for the TurboGrafx-16 CD on the Wii's Virtual Console since late-January of 2012. While I wanted to play the original disc on my PC Engine Duo-R, the console won't power on so I went back to simply playing it on the Wii. There is nothing more to add as my original review nearly 7 years ago is pretty much unchanged. But there have since been new videos up about the game that I've watched and have uploaded here. The game's soundtrack is still incredible and it's still a great game to play but each books final levels are still a bad pain in the ass to get through. I didn't like them back then, and I still don't like them now. I'd argue I played through both books faster than last time as I had a good memory as to where I had to go. I had to consult a walkthrough for some of it though given every level is a maze.
