Mar 20, 2013 23:58

Rubbout is happening April 12-14 this year. I plan to attend the Friday and Sunday events. Will write about the weekend in my next monthly entry and include some pictures so check it out! Also, I found out that in a couple of Saturdays, our "Granny-Griz" Bill Houghton is having a surprise 60th birthday party put on by his partner, David. I was told ( Read more... )

About the same, he hardly changes LOL! Still looks hot in rubber. If he attends the Friday night social at Rubbout next month, I'll try to get a pic of him and post it here so you have a more recent pic to see. Hopefully in the mothly entry next month. :)

It's sad when people have to put down other religions in front of people; it's an insecurity, basically. And it's a bore.

This is why I'm totally against religion.

It does not bring people together-it causes
long, bloody, unnecessary wars.

It causes other bad things, like bigotry,
hate crimes, etc.

People say and do the WORST things-all in the name of religion.

I'm hoping you won't have problems on the job-and things will stay status quo.

That's true. I don't care much if people hold a low view of religion (as long as the reasons are legitimate) but for the sake of unity, it's best to keep comments private - especially when a religious ritual is going on! It would be like going to a church and screaming out during communion without understanding the symbolism, "You guys are eating some dead guy's body and drinking his blood? Cannibals ( ... )

David is going to have a Passover seder but I'm debating to be a part of it since his "friends" are going to be there, a couple of them hold very anti-Christian attitudes which David, as a Jew, feels no need to call them on it, even in my presence (he has allowed this to happen with others through the years).  I do not remember the topic, but when you first sent Me the friend-request, your then-current post was about something David had done.  There must be some benefit to having him around, but he seems to have some serious downsides!
I suspect your plan to be somewhere else when the seder is held is a good one.  I am less forgiving, and would (Hypothetically, as I know zero about your situation or the people involved.) likely make some remark amounting to “That is exactly what you are doing!” to person mouthing off.  I would then hold David accountable for re-inviting the known (this has happened before, you say) bigot into your house, allowing the bigot to bad-mouth you in your own home.  I cannot see anything good ( ... )

Hi Master Dave, probably when I sent the friend-request last year, most likely it was at the time David's treatment of me was shameful to say the least. Things have mainly returned to 2011, which is a lot less stressful. Yes, David does have some serious downsides: he has too much pride and needs to know that being intelligent and booksmart doesn't mean much if you lack willpower ( ... )
