Sooo far, 2008 has been pretty awesome.
1. Got my green card! It was somewhat anticlimactic. As soon as the interviewer saw our marriage pictures, she said "Alright, I'll approve this." My face looks disfigured I'm smiling so hard in those pics, lol. It was interesting, you could definitely see which couples were there because of 'marriage of convenience' reasons. There were quite a few people there alone as well - the dreaded stokes interview!
The entire time we were waiting, I kept repeating "I'm grateful that we will have the nicest and most efficient interviewer." Nice she was not, but efficient most certainly!
Big thanks to Ahavah and Manifest_now, for sending me reiki and teaching me the power of gratitude thinking.
This means that... I'll be able to go to Turkey and see my grandmother and family! I'm so excited. My grandmother is an amazing lady and I'm finally old enough to fully appreciate it. Also an old lady, who is having knee surgery this week, so I'm glad I can FINALLY go see her.
2. Leaving my hellacious barista job on Wednesday - initially I told them I would stick around until they found a new cashier but since Beth is coming in on Thursday I told them they could figure it out themselves - I want to spend as much time as possible with my best friend!
3. Back in gear with eating low carbs, and feeling great.
4. Mike and I are on continuously growing planes of love, care, respect, support, and adoration of one another.
5. Found an affordable acupuncturist in my area - I've been having a really rough time with PMS lately. Switched birth controls, as before I was going into rages while somehow being completely wiped-out and depressed... now I'm just completely wiped-out and nauseous. Maybe the acupuncture will help *crosses fingers*
6. Have two jobs set up - the first will be back at Trader Joes, which I love. Then, when my brother's baby is born, I will take a CPR certification class and become their daytime nanny - which means that...
7. In five months Mike and I should have ample money to go on our road trip and find our new home! YEAH WEST COAST!
8. While most of 2007 was spent being depressed because of seeming lack of friends, phony friend, disloyal friends, etc. This past week has marked communication with some old, true friends. Makes me feel great!
