I like to think of myself as a capable (if somewhat out-of-practice) writer. My biggest writing challenge since LearnedThumb was born has been finding the time to put the ideas in my head onto paper (figuratively, natch).
I don't suddenly find myself with loads of extra time, but I am getting tired of having ideas that only live in my head. So, I'm going to make the time to write, and I'm using NaNoWriMo as motivation.
I've downloaded
Scrivener, so there are no more excuses. I'm going to have to do a bit of research before I can really begin fine-tuning the plot and writing, so I doubt I'll come anywhere near the 50,000 word goal. But, it'll be nice to be writing regularly again. And it will certainly be a more productive use of what little spare time I have than playing Civilization IV Warlords for the 249th time.
I don't think I'll be blogging what I'm writing as I go, but I may change my mind. Maybe I'll wait until I have a section complete and get some feedback on that as I work on the next section. We'll see.
Wish me luck!
