Lately a Korean singer who goes by the singer name PSY is making big waves on youtube and he is even being invited onto American shows, like ellen, good morning America, and the tonight show through his July 2012 hit single, Gangnam STYLE.
How is this experience for you, as a Korean student or Korean speaker?
Does it embarrass you, or do think it's cool?
Have you had more people ask you about the Korean language or about Korea in general because of it?
What kinds of predictions do you make about the video's impact on the future of your local culture?
It's not homework -- I'm just curious.
I hear gangnam style on the radio a couple times a day while I'm driving around (NY),
and it feels like I'm in some alternate universe where all the people are Americans,
but the entertainment is not in English. Strange!
