I have some of these already, but the first one and "Japanese Beyond Words" sound interesting... please email me and let me know what you would want for them.... I live in Canada.

Some of these books are old huh? I think Dictionary of Basic Japanese Grammar is out of print. I dunno, but they all seem to be good. I am taking Japanese classes at my highschool and college. One is for writting the other convesational. :)

I saw that book on my book list for U of A and didn't buy it, thinking, "Well, there are only two basic types of verbs and two irregulars.." plus since I saw the same company makes this "501 verbs" series for a bunch of other languages I figured that they were just trying to make money off it. Is it really useful? Nobody that I know bought it.

well, no, not for someone who is taking classes and has an instructor to teach them the conjugations. i didn't have that luxury, so it came in quite useful. of course, once i learned all the forms the book became less useful and more of a pain to carry around. it is nice though... like when i first started i didn't know if "kiru" (to cut) was a regular -ru verb or not, but and i made mistakes using it until i looked it up in the book. you could probably save yourself 20 bucks and pass on it tho.

Sorta on topic, but a little off vtppglvr July 6 2010, 01:33:53 UTC
On the subject of reading, I was wondering, where might I find a place to download different Japanese short stories. (These don't have to be very popular ones or anything. I know that sometimes, if a writing is old enough, it can be legally posted on the internet.)

I would just like to practice my reading without buying a hundred different books.

よろしくお願い~!(^。^)
