Love is the Movement

Hey guys! So November 13 is To Write Love on Her Arms day. For those of you who aren't on SWG or who just didn't see, I wanted to post this here because it's a cause that really means something to me.

So what is To Write Love on Her Arms? Their mission statement is as follows:

"To Write Love on Her Arms is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire and also to invest directly into treatment and recovery.

We know that pain is very real. It is our privilege to suggest that hope is real, and that help is real. You need to know that rescue is possible and that freedom is possible."

It started in an attempt to tell the story of a broken girl who the founder knew, a girl who was turned away from a drug treatment facility and then, after a weekend of binging and partying carved the words 'fuck up' into her arm. The mission statement started as a hope to erase 'fuck up' and instead...write love on her arms.

So for TWLOHA Day they ask that you write Love on your arms, and people often take pictures and post them to the facebook group. Anyway, you can check out the website at: www.twloha.com.

As someone who has survived suicide and who also used to self-harm, this is something that means a lot to me, and I wanted to participate. :) Thanks for listening guys!!
