So I totally forgot two of the most emotional parts of yesterday. I wasn't thinking straight, obviously. Anyway, the first one was when Heidi and Jessica were up talking about their sister.... I don't know how I forgot to tell about this! Probably because I cried hardest then. Anyway, Heidi and Jess did Bridgette's makeup and hair. When they got there to start, the lady from the funeral home was like "your sister had the most beautiful green eyes." Heidi and Jess kind of looked at each other like "What?!" and said "Bridgette had blue eyes!" And the lady was like "No, her eyes were the most green I've ever seen!" And Heidi started to cry when she was telling us this..... and then she said "Bridgette's eyes only turned green when she was happy!" :'( Bridgette was very happy about going Home! That really blessed my heart. It stirred up emotions like you wouldn't believe.
The other thing was after her friends and family spoke about her. The pastor was speaking, and he was like "Bridgette was the bride, dressed in white, going to her bridegroom. Gary, with your permission, I would like to formally give Bridgette to her groom. Who gives this woman to spend her life with this man?" and there was a pause. Then Gary stood up and said with what little strength he had left, "Her father and her mother do." OH MY GOSH! That was the most beautiful thing! I cannot tell you how beautiful the service was. It meant a lot to me- as well as the other HUNDREDS of people there.
Bridgette touched many lives- especially yesterday. In fact, I've had a few people call or get ahold of me that I never would have expected, thanking me for my leadership and Christ-like attitude. Danielle Kelly called me today and we talked for quite a while about how little we've done. She's 31 and she said she didn't feel like she's done anything to serve God, compared to Bridgette, who lived for such a short time. I feel the same way. This is definitely lighting a match under Coldwater's butt. God knew what He was doing when He called Bridgette home.... He was leading hundreds to Him.
