Yesterday was the best day I've had this summer, I think. Because Aaron and Alysha came home for the night (the night before), I had debated calling in sick. But I just couldn't bring myself to do it, because I figured the ER would be busy on a day I'd pull a stunt like that. So I went to work at 7. I got there and mentioned to a nurse that my brother had come from Chicago to surprise and spend the day with me. She was like "I would've called in if I were you!" So all day I was pretty bummed that I was cooped up in there while my brother and Alysha were home. Finally, I determined that it was worth a shot to ask Marion if I could go home early. She said yes, because she knew that I had been working hard the previous 3 days in a row. I was supposed to leave at 3 but it got busy so I didn't leave til 5. Still, that's 2 and 1/2 hours early! I got home, went tanning and then took my mom, Aaron and Alysha to Los Tequilas... on me, since they'd never been there before. Oh how I enjoyed it beyond belief. I was pretty stinking spunky all night.
After we got home, I got the idea to go putt putt before we went to see Batman Begins (I told Alex the night before I would go with him). I got ahold of Alex and he said he was game, so we met at Adventure Zone out by the drive-in theater. I was so excited to see Alex! Seriously, this is one kid that I dearly miss. He's lost a lot of weight and was wearing a ball cap (he usually wears a beanie if anything at all) so it took me a minute to realize it was him. Then I freaking wanted to tackle hug the poor kid. I immediately picked up from where we left off with my sarcasm towards him. We had a freaking blast putt putting. I started off not too bad. Then two holes in a row I got like 6. Danged pond. The course is all weird, where there aren't bricks to stop your ball from going into the water, so if you hit it on a hill, you're stinking screwed. Instead of grabbing the net to fish it out, I had a jolly time swinging at it with my putter, splashing water all over the stinking place. Then... I don't remember which hole it was, but there was this narrow bridge you had to hit the ball over to get to the other side. If not, it went in the water. So Alex told me to just chuck it over the water onto the other side. So, willing to take a dare, I wailed that sucker.... and it JUST missed the other side, bouncing off the edge then bounced all over the freaking course til it finally plopped into a pond like 4 holes from us. It was stinking HILARIOUS! Alex, the gentleman that he is, went and fished it out for me. I got two hole in 1's shortly after that! Right in a row too! I still ended up losing... I think my brother added the scores wrong, punkface. Lets pick on the challenged girl!
After we finished putt putting, we had 15 minutes to drive across town, go to Walmart to get our Ben and Jerry's then sneak it into the movie! So Alex and I were both trucking to get to Walmart. We got there then raced in to get our Ben & Jerry's. When we got out, we had like 6 minutes to get there on time. So we spend through town like mad people. We gave all of our ice creams to Alysha to put in her freaking massive purse. They all fit too! Hot diggity. Then we all had to potty so we headed off to there, then met back in the lobby.... only Alex was missing. We thought he was in the bathroom but Aaron said he never went in. So we walked in the theater to see this idiot flailing his arms around. Haha. How I love that kid. We tried to slowly pull our ice cream out because the movie had begun and they were still wrapped up in the walmart plastic bag. I was pretty consumed in my Chunky Monkey, so I wasn't paying the best of attention to the movie until the sad part Danged hobo. The funniest part.... which shouldn't have been funny, but was hysterical was when the chick slapped "Batman" twice for having the gun. The theater was silent, and we were all anticipating what the heck he was going to do back to her. The kid in front of us muttered "shoot her!" so we ALL BUSTED UP! Oh my gosh. I didn't stop laughing til at least 5 minutes later. It was stinking hilarious. Haha, I am still laughing.
The movie was fun. Afterwards, I talked to Alex a little bit in the parking lot while the love birds were freaking doing their own thing. It was so much fun to hang out with those three. Honestly the best day I've had this summer. Alex is in town til school starts so I'm stoked to get to hang out with him more. It's crazy how he adores me, though I'm so blasted sarcastic to him. To this day it still boggles my mind that he likes to hang out with me, though I'm "God Squad". He looks up to me for it, and I think he's learning that Christians can have fun..... what an example we set last night
