I forgot to mention this morning's prayer breakfast. It was so neat. In Williams lobby, the women on campus had a prayer breakfast lead by Vicky Beeching. I didn't know how many ladies would actually show up. The chairs and floor were FILLED! It was amazing! It was so awesome to be surrounded by so many ladies who are so passionate for the Lord. Their prayers were so beautiful! The message was awesome!! Vicky talked about the movie "Never Been Kissed." Drew Barrymore decides that at this packed baseball game, in a huge stadium, she's going to declare her love for this man. She was so in love that she wasn't embarrassed or afraid to do this. Why am I not like that? So many of us, myself included, would be embarrassed! She compared this to us declaring our love for the Lord. How many people push aside their fear, their embarrassment, their shame and declare their love for God like that? I'm not saying let's all go find the nearest baseball stadium and walk to the pitcher's mound to state that we love God and we are going to wait for Him to meet us there. But why, in church, do we hold back from giving God our all? Why, in life, do we hold back from giving God our all? As Hebrews 12:1 says "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hiinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us." Like Mary of Bethany, we should fall to Jesus' feet, giving our most prized possessions. And of COURSE...... I had a quote or verse to go along with that, but I'm not thinking of what it is right now or where I JUST saw it..... and after searching for it for 1/2 hour, I'm going to just move on :-) Must not have been that important. It's something like "Be careful what you do with your riches, because there too your heart will be." Or something.
Yeah, so that breakfast was a blessing....... way to start off my day! Even if we didn't have cream cheese for our bagels :-P
