gift giving.

I'm going to a party tonight!!  Yay, I haven't been to a party in ages.  Course that is probably because I am seriously anti-social!  This party is a baby shower.

Have I mentioned before, I am not a good gift giver.  So for all of the other people in your life who are not good gift givers, perhaps I will try to define, explain, etc. the process ( Read more... )

I think these are good gifts. My Aunt also always gives Mother Goose nursery rhymes to babies born in the family (though not a board book), and I don't believe a book can ever be a wrong gift (unless, it's say, Divorce for Dummies at a wedding shower).

And the camera's are a great idea too. I think I actually did pretty well with ConTessa on pictures, but Devilla, who is only two years behind her big brother as opposed to the 4 years between her and ConTessa, may have some gaps. I had my hands full back then. With older siblngs being older, you can actually have time to appreciate the moment.

That being said. I got like a 3 month supply of diaper wipes at a baby shower once. At the time I was like ..?.. -- I thought how boring and unoriginal. But when we were busy with a new baby and barely keeping our brains in gear at home, let alone running to the store for supplies, it turned out to be one of my favorite gifts. I would rec wipes instead of diapers because you never know how big a baby is going to be or how fast they're going to grow.

Now that I've taught myself to crochet, I also found a baby bootie pattern that I can do in 1-2 days, so that's usually what I do. But, again, I think you made a good choice. I'd like it if it were me.

I used to give just board books, but maybe I should mix it up with board books and wipes. Someone gave wipes last night, and that was a good gift.

She liked the cameras because she had been talking to her daughters recently about how cameras used to use film, so she was excited for her girls to play with these. But they also talked about how many throw away pics kids do. So hopefully it will work out.
