Aack! Ever Expanding Sour Dough

Dec 30, 2009 17:04

We have bread dough filling every crevice of the bread machine!  Note to self--> Next time I decide to cook Sour Dough on the longer French Bread setting, add less yeast!  And the machine isn't even going to start baking for another five minutes!  I'm not sure how I'll get the bucket out of the machine, since the handle is caught up in the dough too!

In other bread news though, I made a new sweet loaf today:  Special Winter Bread.  The recipe includes 7/8 cup water, 2 tablespoons butter, 1 large egg, 1/4 cup molasses, 1/4 cup of corn meal, 2 and 3/4 cups bread flour, 2/3 cup whole wheat flour, and 2 and 1/4 cup of active dry yeast.  This turned out great!  It's especially good with slices of cheddar cheese on top.

Feeling much better today, though I'm probably still not fit for company.  That didn't stop me though from going to get my hair cut.  I'm back to the same hair style I had when I was five years old and many, many times since.  I try other hair styles, but always come back to the same basic shoulder length cut.  Pretty boring.

I'm now reading HP 2, just finished the part where Mr. Weasley dives at Lucius Malfoy in the book shop.  "Go get him, Mr.  Weasley!"  Love these books!

ETA-->  Good News!  The loaf shrunk just enough while baking to fit the size of the pan!  Hopefully it will cook all the way through!
