pondering online publishing

Hi Everyone,

Have any of you ever published original fiction online?  If so, what website did you use?

Yeah, I would kind of expect that. I still have some stories on fanfiction.net, and every once in a while I still get a whacked out review. I like chapter fics because you can build up readership. The worst are the young kids that get on those sites. That negative reviewer quite possibly was a twelve or thirteen year old. Still, I'll avoid that writers.com. Sounds like it tends to be more negative than positive.

I'm sorry you had such a bad experience. You're probably right about not posting my stories. Plus once they're published online, they're published so then there's no chance that I might eventually redo the stories so that they'll be publishable. I was just thinking though that publishing online would give me a little short term satisfaction. It may take decades, if ever, before I ever publish something.

As for the writers group, I've actually met some writers in the area from NANO write. I've never had as much success with a writers group as I did with our online group, and I think, it was as you said, that's because y'all knew me better and we also had similar interests.

It is always difficult.
