So I spent some last night refreshing my music library a little, finding new songs like I periodically do and WOW it is hard finding good music.
First place I checked was iTunes top songs. All I can say is.. WHAT THE FRACK. Top 2 songs Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus... please please, someone please get that Party in the USA song off the effing list. I'm not a person who's afraid to listen to so-called "gay" or "girly" music, but that song is just god-awful: the lyrics are retarded and her voice is paper thin/irritating.
Next, I decided to fall back on old faithful: Last.fm. It turns out I dropped a bombshell on the recommendation-capabilities of Last.fm for my account by listening to Glee Cast music 6000+ times. All me neighbours and recommendation are based almost exclusively on that now -_-
I finally turned reluctantly to Apple Genius, and, surprisingly, I found a few songs. It wasn't spectacular, but it was passable- I found a handful of songs.
But isn't it annoying how a song can sound so much better on the radio or when you're previewing it than when you actually download it? I carefully selected 20 songs, and only half of them ended up being rated 3 stars and up in my library (3 stars is the standard for music I will listen to; 1 or 2 stars basically means I will likely never listen to it again).
Sigh. Anyhow, it was pretty exhausting, but I had to do some updating, because people have been asking me for music, and I would hate to disappoint with entirely old stuff! ...and other don't ask and just unscrupulously steal my music from my Last.fm radio station/library..... :P jk
