Ayu has been pissing me off lately, I mean, she IMHO, hasn't had a good album since "Memorial address", one of the best albums that year, no doubt.
But, after watching the CNN interview with her, I must say that I have gained a lot of respect for her. Still don't care for her new releases, but I'm not as frustrated/mad at her as I was. Her interview really helped me to gain perspective and look a bit deeper into her as a human being, not a musical icon. Some of her answers were interesting, I think she kinda goes on for a long while, though. I love how she continuously referred to music as her "job" and talks about it that way -- 'cause basically that's what it is. I think a lot of musicians forget that. And I also love how she realizes that to her fans, she is always "ayumi hamasaki", whether or not she's working. My mom will love her for the God reference about the future alone. lol.
Oh, and her English is surprisingly good. I mean her conversational skills not only in speaking, but in body language as well was terrific. I give her props. She could definitely live in the US without a problem, I think. And also, her aura in general throughout the interview is quite pleasant. She has a pleasant personality. Yup, just pleasant. I like pleasant.
So, Ayu seems like someone I could definitely sit down with and have a decent conversation with. I always thought so, but now I have proof. lol :P
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Ayu. Yup. I just don't like her post-Memorial address. XD I hope she gets out of this slump, and starts making quality pop soon. And, please no more "rock". Thanks ayu! <3
Leanne :)
btw, did she mention her dad, or am I hearing wrong?
