So I went to Ozzfest yesterday, it was fucking awesome!!
Around 1, when we were getting ready to leave, I started feeling faint and lightheaded and blah. Of all the days I could have been sick, yesterday was definitely not the best one! My parents thought I wasn't drinking enough water, so I drank a lot of water and then I was fine all day.
We got there, and a guy on a golf cart gave us a ride because of my dad's broken leg. We went to the second stage first, saw the end of Unearth and the beginning of Atreyu, so we got there around 2 30 ish. Then my dad went and sat on a hill and me and Bristol walked around and looked at stuff. Lots of slutty girls, a handful of topless girls with their chests painted, very sunburned people, a handful of very pale people who were going to be very red at the end of the day, and some crazy people in pants. I don't know how you could wear pants. It was very hot and very sunny. So we went and found our seats around 3:30. We bumped into Mike, from my dad's work, and his son and his son's friend. Me and Bristol went to go find the bathrooms. I expected them to be really crowded but it wasn't, only one time there was a line. And they had 2 ladies rooms and only one mens. Apparently someone figured out that was a good idea! We also went to get water. $4 for a bottle of water. We got 3 and they put them into cups and so it kept spilling and eventually I just refilled the waterbottles from a waterfountain.
5:00 and Dragonforce started. It was very loud. They jumped around a lot and the keyboard player did a split in the air, damn lol. But they were bad.
Next up was Lacuna Coil. THEY WERE SOOOO GOOD!!!!! I don't remember what the set list was but it was all from Karmacode except for Heaven's a Lie. I was very happy they played that song. It is the first Lacuna Coil song I heard and I thought they were all very scary at the time. I wrote a whole essay about hearing the song for the first time and how it impacted my life. Lol, yes, that's the most important thing that ever happened to me. Hearing a song. But it did impact my life, which is the important part. Annyyway, back to talking about the concert. Most of the front section was standing but only a handful of people (including us) in the part we were were standing. They did their synchronized headbanging. I don't know what's with Italians but they are all folded over when they headbang. You would think that would make it harder to play the guitars and sing. Cristina was very energetic. It was ammaazzzinggg. I have been waiting for 2 years to see them live and it was AWESOME!
Next up was Hatebreed. They were very loud, it was just like a lot of loud noise rather than music. All the songs sounded the same. But they put on a good show and Jamey seems like a cool guy. They were by far the loudest. Or they were the loudest before my hearing started to fail.
Avenged Sevenfold was next. Oh man, they suck. Really really bad. They were a lot shorter than Hatebreed though, which was good. Or Hatebreed seemed very long because the songs were short and there were a lot of them.
Disturbed was next. They were very good. I like Disturbed. They played a lot of the songs I know. Lol and fork chin man (the singer, I don't know his name) gave a speech about how crap emo music is hahahahaha. They did not seem as loud but I think that was becuase my hearing was very poor. And they were over and hour but Hatebreed seemed a lot longer (and they only had like 40 mins). But yeah, they were very good.
And we left before System of a Down because we couldn't get caught in the big crowds going out because of my dad's leg. I would have liked to stay at least for a few songs. Mike stayed and he said they played BYOB and I would have liked to see that live.
And then we went home and Bristol slept over and left early and I can hear fine now.
The end :)
