So, I watched Blink last night, meaning that I'm almost finished with the third season of Dr. Who (also meaning that I contemplated going to sleep with the light on). Blink was fantastic, and, in general I've enjoyed the season immensely -- I mean, 42 and The Lazarus Experiment weren't great, but they weren't nearly as bad as I was expecting. Though I miss Rose, I feel generally as if the plots in season three have been more varied and creative than the ones in season two (admittedly, I may have a bias against cybermen). Looking forward to the finale.
But I've got a worrisome question about Blink, which I will put behind a cut, because its a huge spoiler.
A theoretical question: If you've got these nasty creatures who become statues only while they're being watched, and you've tricked them into a position in which they're all trapped as statues because they're in a circle facing one another, and you've done all of this. . .
in a cellar, lit only by one little light bulb. . . .
how long do you think you've trapped them for, really? what's the lifespan of a 60 watt incandescent bulb?
Best of luck with that, Sally Sparrow.
