I have been having so much fun.

I really like early January because for me it's still pretty much the holidays. Since Fran's b-day is the 10th and then mine is the 19th and then Feb. 14th is Valentines Day it just all rolls into one huge three month(four if you count Halloween...and who doesn't count Halloween?) long holiday season.

Cornish Pasty Co. is hiring lots of staff because they're opening a new restaurant and I'm going to apply today if I can get my resume printed. Ugh, I still don't know how to do the accent mark on the 'e' there. But yeah, I would be so excited to work there. They have fantastic draft beer and fantastic foodsies and they're hiring cooks and waitstaff, both of which I have experience in. Here's to hoping I get a job.

School starts on the 20th. Kinda sucks cause I think I'm going to miss the inauguration (sp?) but still, at least I get the 19th off for my birthday. During which I will finally be turning 21! I know lots of people say, oh it's not that great and once it happens you don't even notice. But you know what? I will notice. I have been waiting for this since I got into college and started hanging out with people over 21 and haven't been able to keep a lasting relationship with them because they always end up meeting at the bar where I can't go.

Not to mention the whole foodie side of things. I have been drinking water with all of my food because soda is mostly just gross now and I can't get a nice wine or draft beer during all of my fine dining experiences. And let's not even go into the fact that I WORKED AT A MICROBREWERY and I couldn't even get my FREE PINT AFTER EVERY SHIFT that I worked almost every day of the summer.

I'm excited.

Sunday night I'm going to a burlesque show at The Trunk Space and then at midnight I will be in Bikini having my first legal drink even though they won't card me but that's okay. Then Monday I'll be having a little get together at Pizzeria Bianco/Bar Bianco. I'm sad because reservations can only be made for 6-10 people in a party and I want to invite so many more than that.

This year is starting off really well.

p.s. New book is really fantastically awesome. Michael Pollan's The Omnivore's Dilemma. It is just one of those books that you pick up and think, oh it's just someone spouting off stupid hippy shit. But then once you realize the wow points that he makes, like the similarities between America: The Alcoholic Republic of the 1820's and America: The Fat Republic of Today, it's mindblowing. Like really, I feel like my mind is getting the best blow job ever. (sorry, I know, graphic. But it's so good.)

I needed this book badly, business school was starting to make me feel stupid.
