A major crisis is going on and so far the Dutch government is deadly silent. Literally.
Across Niger, the world’s second-poorest country, drought has shriveled pastureland and swarms of the migratory grasshoppers have stripped it clean, leaving livestock-and the herders who depend on those animals-desperately hungry, some to the point of starvation. The shortage of fodder, the worst in Niger’s history, has wiped out whole herds.

This is an acute crisis. While I strongly believe that we have all contributed to this crisis food is only the first step.
Re-foresting the next - and if another American scientist tries to tell me that there is no climate change I'm going to change his...and it won't be pleasant.
Plants are water-management...leave the jungle alone! It might be far away today, but if you look close enough the dangers is already closer to you than you think.
