Future project ideas
Can't sleep but not alert enough to really write, so I'm just getting ideas for future long projects out of my head and onto somewhere I can see them, instead of squirreled away on my hard drive to be forgotten.
I was reading old meta posts on nicole_anell's journal and came across this. Saul/Caprica came up during the pairings discussion days for the 30 Day Fandom meme, and people's comments along with Nicole's very justified frustration over the subsuming of Caprica's arc to Saul's has got me wanting to dissect their canon arc from Caprica's and maybe also Ellen's POV. I suspect it will wind up a long fic.
In a similar vein I'd like to unpack Helo/Athena and look at the Stockholm syndrome-like aspects that got swept under the rug by the show.
mermaidfangs gave me a prompt ages ago for an AU with Lee joining Gaeta's mutiny, possibly instead of Zarek. This actually sparked a scene idea that I should have written down, because it's gone now =(. But I'm going to get it back, I swear it. Plus I might get some Lee/Gaeta and major character death out of this. *rubs hands in glee* I'm a horrible person, I know.
At some point I should finish that Laura + chamalla addiction fic that's been collecting dust. It doesn't have an actual plot right now, though, just some random nightmare scenes.
I had two ideas for the Epics Big Bang, but the one I'm not going with still wound up with a 2-3 page outline that's more or less all unanswered questions, for sci_fi_shipper's AU prompt where Pegasus doesn't make it back to the Fleet after it jumps away in "The Captain's Hand." I might tackle this right after religious!AU, what with Kara/Lee/angst on the brain a little more often these days.
Somewhere in the back of my head there's also a Kara-centric (maybe Kara/Kendra) fic with Kara posted to Pegasus instead of Galactica during the attacks.
And maybe I should find something fluffy to write too, in between all these. Or get more scotch. The fluff is probably healthier.
