On Friday I got home from work to find a shaking, pale boyfriend, telling me we need to go to the hospital. Ooookay? Why? "I'm peeing blood." Umyeah let's call that ambulance now. >_>
Six hours, a continuous morphine drip for the pain and two litres of saline solution later, the verdict was kidney stones. For a 23 year old. Hooboy, I don't think that was fun for Dan. He had only eaten a bowl of cereal for that entire day, so when we got home around 1 am, I made us some pasta. The doctors had neglected to mention that there might be some lingering side effects of the hours of morphine, so of course that pasta didn't stay down for very long... nor did it several attempts later. (With new pasta I mean. Ew. XD) Dan tells me it's very frustrating to be starving and still be unable to hold down even water.
Oh well. The stone seems to have passed that night or the morning after. No more blood, no more kidney pain, no more puking. :) Even so, he seems to have the worst luck with his health.
As for my health, I caught a sore throat from the hospital. My birthday plans and my four day weekend start on Friday. So OF COURSE I'm sick, I should have expected this! And of course I called in a flex day last week just for errands. I still have five left but since I already booked off Friday I think I shouldn't push my luck too much. :P
