Vacation recap?
Hey all!
im currently on my way back from sunny FL. The weather there was perfect with the exception of a bunch of wind yesterday making it feel a bit cool. I think it would be easier to bullet point this post with some of the highlights.
- Our wedding hotel upgraded us to a suite overlooking the ocean as a thank you. The crazy part is we had to pay extra if we wanted that room for our wedding yet we got it 4 nights for their best rate this time. It was freaking beautiful and I fell in love the hotel even more.
-We were able to meet with our wedding dinner place which was more beautiful than I thought and set a menu. We also got to see the actual beach we are getting married on which is small but adorable.
- I had my hair and make up trial and the girl slayed the look I was going for. I’m even more excited now.
-We ate at a new Brazilian steakhouse which was amazing & since I found a Groupon we got a killer deal. We also tried a BBQ & Pizza place to see which place we would want dinner on Friday with our guests at.
-I was able see my dad! He came and hung out by the beach then pool and hot tub while Ryan worked yesterday. Always so nice to see him and catch up.
- Ryan and I had plenty of time to have sex, cuddled and catch up in general.
- I spent a lot of time in the beach or pool area alone which allowed me time to really think a lot about life, come up with a plan of attack for the week, catch up on LJ, catch up on Posh trainings and talk to new people.
- we got Ryan’s right size and some ideas as to which right he wants
- we explored FT Lauderdale beach and got The most amazing ice cream!
The only real low time was when Ryan went to the casino on Friday night. I sat on the balcony looking at the moon, hearing the waves crash and feeling the wind & felt so freaking angry that he wasn’t there with me. That he chose the casino over that night with me. But I also realized that I could have went to the casino with him and instead I chose to stay at the hotel because it really isn’t my thing. I did okay with him being gone though and kept myself amused and in the right headspace. He ended up losing and didn’t talk once about poker the rest of the trip which was a win for me.
A few other concerns were brought up but since the plane is taking off in a few I will address them later. As for now I’m feeling refreshed, content with wedding plans and very very happy to see the kids that I miss so much! I’m a little worried about the week ahead and Ryan being in super scary South Africa but again- I will save that for another post.
South Fl is beautiful and I so wish all of you could be there in May with me!
