They turned out so well! How did they taste?

The food coloring had no noticeable effect on flavor. Because it was a test run and we had some mysterious yellow cake mix that'd been sitting around for a long time I actually just used that - I imagine making them from scratch would be an improvement.

I'm also tempted to do a marbelised double batch - one golden, one chocolate, swirl the two together. That's rock.
