So, we got the keys to the new place yesterday. I managed to move my desk frame myself, because I was crazy and excited about settling into the new place. This involved crouching under my desk frame, lifting it up, walking like a hunchback, and hating the stupid people who put their cat on a leash tied to the back staircase of my building.
Right now, most of my books and clothes are moved. I spent a lot of time organizing my belongings this weekend, which will be useful since my bedroom will only hold my bed. However, by sometime tonight, I will have reached the point in the move where there is nothing left that is fully packed, because I'm moving within my building. At this point, I will pick up a vase and a magazine and a poster, and consider that a full load to take to the new place.
Incidentally... if anyone feels like going up and down a flight of stairs several times, carrying things like vases, posters, magazine, teddy bears, and rubbermaid bins full of beanie babies my grandma bought me that I feel bad about tossing... feel free to come over tonight.
Big stuff is getting moved tomorrow, and we will be without cable and internet (the horrors!) for about 36 hours. On the plus side, because of a deal with Comcast, we'll have HBO again, as well as a land line, for basically the same price we were previously paying.
And to repeat my last post: Sturges movie marathon, 4pm, Saturday the 12th? We can order sushi/pizza from Giordano's/pizza from Chicago Pizza/pizza from Apart/pizza from Spacca Napoli after the first movie, maybe?
