Ann Arbor in pictures.

So
emperorjan and I went to visit a friend of his in Ann Arbor this weekend. Mr. Z also gave me a new phone, one with a camera, so you guys can get subjected to blurry, poor-quality photos. Who's excited?

On Friday evening, Mr. Z's friend Dave (with whom we were staying) showed us his set of urban slang flashcards. I was surprised to learn that the word I had known for many years as "hooptie" was apparently spelled "hoopty", but hey, the flashcard says, so I guess trust it.

Speaking of hoopties, we saw this delightful example as we were walking toward Zingerman's:

Let's get a close-up on the front license plate.

That's right, it's the Jesus Hoopty. The back bumper also featured a Bell's Brewery bumper sticker, so the car is righteous on both ends.
The rest of the pics I took had an Asian food theme.

1. I don't understand why anyone would want to go to such an anti-Thai restaurant. Thai food is great! It was a major component of my student diet! (The other major components: Frosted Mini-Wheats and stuff in the vending machine at midnight.)

2. A Japanese restaurant named Totoro. Mmmm, delicious magical Totoros. They taste like BBQ pork.

3. An aisle heading from a market next to a tea shop. I just love the combo.

So yeah, other than that, I need to buy some silver shoes tomorrow. And figure out how big a tip you should give your pedicurist if your gross feet make her cry. Also, I will not be seeing
tophatter2 (sniff) weekend after next, but he'll be out for a Buffy Sing-a-Long a few weeks after that. Also, I have to decide if I'm going to crash the UChicago theme tournament with booze and/or baked goods.
