Tomorrow I start my only summer class that I have ever taken. This will be the 7th year that I have been in college (more or less) and I have managed to NEVER have to take a summer class. This class that I start tomorrow is a must for my major, the second to last class, the clinical portion, and it is only offered in the summer. At least I am working with two other girls who will help share the workload. Now, I have been finding myself bored some days, so it's kinda good that I'll have something to do for four weeks straight. The bad part, though, is that the final week of the class will interfere with my annual beach vacation in Canada.
That's right folks, I will be commuting from the beach house to Buff State and back for 5 days. I don't mind the drive, I guess, or the early hours, I guess, but it's the uncertainty of the border. I hope it doesn't take me an hour to cross the border. If it does, I will have to leave the beach at 6am to get to Buff State by 8. That sounds like a hellish thing. I am going to try to convince my teacher to let me miss one day - that first Monday. That way, I can get a solid 2 1/2 days at the beach. I hope my beach vacation will never have to be interrupted again. Last summer I had to drive back and forth two or three times because I was interviewing at South Davis for the job that I ultimately got (thank god). This time it's the class. Seriously, this better be the last year.
We will be driving to Vermont promptly upon our return from the beach to see Zack. I think we will arrive Friday evening and leave on Monday. It should be fun, I think. After, that school starts up before I know it. Actually, grad school starts back up before regular school does. However, it will be my LAST grad class EVER starting at the end of August. What a lovely thought.
What to do with my last hours of relative freedom...
