the boy at the base ball game
We went to a Red Wings game today. there was a kid sitting infront of charlie and he kept looking at me, he was probably about 5 or 6 years old. every once in a while i'd look at him and he'd turn back around. then charlie says "next time he looks at you, smile at hime and see what he does." so i do...and he got all embarrased and turned around and had this really big smile on his face. This happened like 6 or 7 times. then i didn't smile at him once and he says kinda loud "I'M STILL WAITING.....I'M STILL WAITING..." that happened a few times then one time he turns around, charlie kissed me. he stared at charlie's knee for a while then turned back to the game and didn't look back at me again for the rest of the game. the game ended and the fireworks hadn't started yet and i looked over and he had tears in his eyes. Kathy said that she heard the boy's dad say something like "she's a grown up girl" and then he calmed down a little bit. then the fireworks got going and he started crying again, and then i over heard his dad explaining to him about how fireworks worked.
charlie, Mr and Mrs Fuehrer, matt, kathy, and megan kept teasing me about how i broke his heart...i feel kinda bad. then as we're leaving i said to Mrs. Fuehre "watch, like 20 years from now he's gonna come back and ask me to marry him because he's 'STILL WAITING.'"
