So, Christmas is over for another year (except the New year part of it) See my pics below for the snow, me and the wife playing in it at 9am on Christmas morning and me with the obligatory plastic moustache from a cracker - how attractive!!

My Christmas diary:

Christmas Eve:

Work from 9-1, then pub lunch with colleagues which was fun but left around 4pm after too much to eat and drink. I only had 3 drinks but we were sitting down and combined with the food and the early start I was getting sleepy! Headed home to the wife and she reminded me that her cousin’s birthday is on Xmas eve and we had to go to visit. I was exhausted but we went down and ended up playing Chicken Limbo with her cousin’s (there are 5 of them all under 10 years old!!) It is a limbo game and I have damaged my knees, my back and my thighs! It was hard but my competitiveness came through and ensured that I would spend hours throwing myself under the limbo pole as it got lower and lower to the floor!!
We came home and got into our pyjamas, mine are pink with sheep on them!! We opened tamsanger present (v. funny “religious” coasters-Thanks!!) as it is tradition in our house to open one present on Xmas eve. We watched random Christmas crap on TV and went to bed and read before going to sleep around 1.30am.

Christmas Day:

I had set the alarm for 8.30am but we woke up just after and opened our stockings in bed. I got some smellies, chocolate coins, notepads and more. We then went downstairs to open our big pressies. I was so spoilt…I got…
Jigsaw board (to hold jigsaws in one place)
3 jigsaws
DVD
PS2 game
Chocolate
2 books
pants
socks
then she gave me a small box which had a key in it..she told me it was the key to the dining room and that my main present was in there! I was bewildered because I thought that I had everything. I went into the dining room and something was making a humming noise under a mountain of wrapping paper (no rude thoughts please!) I lifted of the paper and there was a PC under it!!!!! My wife got me a PC made, it has a 17inch monitor, a CD rewriter and CD drive AND she is going to network her computer with mine so we can surf the net at the same time!!!!!!! It is amazing and I had no idea she had done it. She had got it made months ago and I never realised! We haven’t got it all set up yet as it will take some time to re-organise the study to fit everything in but I keep looking at it and can’t believe its really mine.

As if that wasn’t enough, we headed to the mother-in-laws house and I got more presents…
Dressing gown and clinique products (from parents-in-law)
A Laminator (from her brother)
Hugo Boss perfume set (from other brother and his fiancé)
Money (from her grandparents)
Charlie set (from her aunt)

After all the present giving we sat down to a gorgeous dinner and an afternoon of Xmas TV and full bellies! We headed home in later that night and watched some of our DVDs while I started on of my puzzles.

Boxing Day:

We were picked up by my step-dad at noon and headed to my mum’s house. She kept saying she hadn’t got us much but we swapped all our presents and I got all of this too….
New cordless phone set for house (for me and the wife)
AN MP3 PLAYER!!
Double dance mat to plug into TV (for me and wife)
Chocolate
Underwear
Coat rack (for house)
Corkscrew (for house)
Gorgeous hanging Ornaments (for house)
More smellies
Book tokens
And the expensive present from my brother that I had no clue about was a gorgeous Timberland watch that cost £75! It’s beautiful but the only thing is I’m worried I’m going to break it!! I’m used to my watch only costing £5! He bought the wife a GUCCI perfume set worth about £50 too.

We also got two sets of towels from other family members which is great as we don’t have nice guest towels and we got £30 habitat vouchers from our friends last week.

I was completely spoiled and I think now as I look back on this list that it’s madness that I got so much. I absolutely love everything I got and it will all be used very well but I feel bad that it seems so extravagant now. I suppose I can’t help what people buy me so I won’t complain and just enjoy what I have.

The wife loves the ring I had designed for her. It turned out much better than I thought it would so I’m glad that she liked it so much. It’s a dragon twisted around a thick brushed silver band with a pseudo emerald in its mouth. It’s engraved on the inside too.

After all that present madness (again) we headed to my aunt’s house for a big family party which was really fun and involved yet more eating and games. We tried to play Simpsons Monopoly with my young cousins but there was a lot of fighting! We also had a huge family portrait taken which turned out really well and I’m looking forward to seeing the proper pics (rather than the small version from my digital camera) The wife was included in it too which I think she was pleased about. I also got to see my cousin who has been working in Japan for 2 and half years. It might be the only time I get to see her as she is heading back there for at least another year and half. She has an American accent as most of the people she works with in the English Language school are from the US. My other cousin also currently works as a Doctor in the same town as zero2aries He says it’s a lovely place with good places to do watersports, not that he has much chance with his schedule. I think he is moving on from there soon to go to Leeds for another Residency. He is also a big fan of New Zealand as he spent a year working out there a few years ago.

Anyway, after all that rambling, here are the pics to illustrate what I’ve been yacking about:

Snow in our garden plus our Xmas window...

Snow in the park across from the parents-in-law...

Me at 9am Xmas morning having a snowball fight...we live near cavehill (local "mountain") so the snow actually lay in our area for most of the day....

Me with my cracker "toy", these are actually painful to wear up your nose and only provide a comedy moment of about 2 seconds....I look miserable don't I? I wasn't really, I think I was just trying to keep the moustache on my nose!?!?!
