What snorkel company brought you to Lanai? The guide who told the legend of Sweetheart Rock (Pu'u Pehe) was wrong... but there's different interpretations of the legend anyway. I work in guest services at Manele Bay Hotel, that large resort on the water that you passed after Pu'u Pehe on the way to Shark Fin Cove, which is known here as Kaunolu.

It's interesting to see the "other" side of Hawaii again, even though I deal with tourists on a daily basis. You guys seem really nice; I've had honeymooning couples scream at me because their rooms had double beds because they didn't request a king and we didn't have any available. It's neat reading about Maui, too. As the island I visit most often I'm very familiar with it, "I know where that is!"

BTW, Angie directed me over to this post...

Oh, I thought I'd show you. These are some of my pictures from one of the times I went on a snorkel sail to where you went:

BTW, I was surprised the company you went with had you snorkel near Pu'u Pehe... that's something we don't reccommend at all (safety/tides/current) so I'm glad you two are ok!

let's see . . . the company was (i believe) "maui adventure tours". and the tour was "lanai dolphin adventure". it's misleading becasue i thought i was gonna swim with them, but i wasn't too disappointed when i found out WHY i couldn't. :)

i LOVE those pictures!!!!! it makes me feel like i am back again, 'cause i miss it so much. :( my stay over there was TOO short. i could have popped up a tent on an island over there and stayed for a month before i really wanted to come home and see anyone.

lol @ the honeymooning couples that scream. just look at them and be like "dudes. you're in HAWAII. and you have a BUTLER. two beds is more love-making."--> that's how cory and i looked at it. :) then again, we wanted two beds. :)
