Getting settled in
So things are going a bit better. My stuff arrived about a week ago & my apartment's basically all set up! I get my car tomorrow (thank god...my rental car was a PT cruiser & i HATE those things, i always make fun of them). Anyway once my car's here I'll have the last of my things I need for the apt.
I've learned my way around for the most part although i'm sure i'll get better. I've been to campus & picked up all my books. I like it there...there's a starbucks right across from the law school!
I've also finished off most of the posted reading assignments i have (that's right...hmwk before we even start class...this isn't a good sign)! Tomorrow after I return my rental i'm going to brief a couple of cases in order for me to better understand them.
I'm ready for class to start so i can start meeting people. I'm sure i'll go out this weekend with sha & his friends, but i'm ready to know my own people...ha.
I've actually been keeping up with the Austin gossip & talking to everyone which is nice. Today Kasia & I were talking about how it's the end of an era with so many people leaving (Fran, Peter, Shiva, John, Spencer, Blake, me).
It's also weird to think about how i will & won't see again. My close friends i know i'll be fine with (i predicted the same thing when i left high school & baylor & i was pretty damn close) but there's those people who i know i'll drift away from which is sad b/c they're good people. That's life i guess. Hopefully i'll meet some cool people here!
I am going back for ACL!! WOOHOO!! I get to Austin on fri night then sat & sun i have tickets for the day. I leave @ 6 am that mon morning in order to get back to Seattle by 10! That way i can make it to my 12:00 class.
Val's on her way to NY. I'm excited for her! I can't wait to go visit her in NY although that probably won't be till next summer. Around May we're planning a trip to Greece & Italy! We're going to book the trip over xmas. That's probably the next time i'll get to see a ton of people. And I guesss it's a new chapter in my life...
