my friend aaron has a
journal in which he asked:
“Are you more at peace around a fire or at the ocean?”
such a great question!
for me… the answer is both. and also neither. but what it SHOULD be is both all the time, no matter what.
here is my view:
both were created by God. and without either or both there would be no life. so, that in itself is overwhelming to me because these are two things i really don’t think much about. and that only proves that we are so small and really should be so insignificant, but He really thinks so much of us to make all the wonderful things around us, to have put so much thought into existence for eternity. and our main job is to rejoice in Him for it.
but in certain circumstances i may not be so humble and actually be in fear or even terror over both of these things. for example, a consuming fire or a raging sea in a sudden storm - at which either i would surely tremble.
but God has said time and time again,”Be not afraid.”
and also, i would agree with,”Do not worry.” fear and worry are almost similar given these circumstances and can both be present. but both shouldn’t even enter our hearts because we have Christ Jesus. we have the Word and the Word is ACTIVE.
so, in conclusion, we should rejoice daily. we should look any circumstance that may bring fear or worry in the face and simply laugh. because God’s joy is our strength. and our peace. and in Him is where our faith is.
i pretty much re-learned that only a few hours ago.
rich beal's message during the evening service really made me think about all of this.
God is so amazing and He just really blows my mind away. and i love it!!!
Phillipians 4:4-9 (NLT)
“Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again-rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon.
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me - everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.”
