(no subject)
I haven't updated in a while... partly because I'm at work most of the day, and also partly due to the fact that no one else has updated all that frequently, but it's mainly due to the fact that not a whole lot has been going on lately.
My parents and my younger sister came into town this weekend to visit, which was fantastic, cause I had been missing them a lot. They managed to rent a car for Saturday afternoon, so we went to Lunenburg for a bit, which actually wasn't all that exciting. I mean, I get that the architecture is amazing, but there really isn't all that much there. It's a very small town, and it's in a protected harbour, so there isn't much of a view. But it was good to get out of Halifax for a bit. Then we went to Jane's on the Common for dinner. Haligonians, if you haven't been there yet, GO. It is FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC. It was the best meal I've had in a good long while. The restaurant is known for its cornbread-crusted haddock, so I had that for dinner. I'm really not a big fan of fish (excluding salmon), but the haddock was amazing. And for dessert I had a chocolate hazelnut torte. Mm it was delicious. Anyways, go to Jane's, it's fantastic. We went to Deco for brunch the next day, after Alanna spent ages at Chocolate Lake practicing for her Sea Kayaking course, the food was great. Shel and I had French Toast, which was made from sourdough bread. Holy crap. I mean, I was spoiled this weekend, really, considering the food that we ate.
Alas, it turns out everyone has either deserted me already, or they're planning to. Mike and Maggie left for PEI on Friday (and went to see SOAP without me... bitches), Alanna's going on her week-long Kayak course tomorrow night, and Jody's leaving tomorrow for the Valley. Bah. You all suck. At least Rachel will be back next monday. And she has a car, so we'll probably go to the Imax to see SOAP anyway after we move her into her new apartment.
Work is going alright so far. I'm not a HUGE fan of the new guy Grant hired, simply because he buggers off to answer his cellphone, and today he ended up talking to a couple of guys in the bookroom when he was supposed to be taking stationary stuff out onto the floor. He also likes to mention his "business" everytime he can, which gets a tad annoying. But whatever, I'm only back there until the 3rd, so I can deal.

Also, I've managed to get FOUR people obsessed with NBC's The Office (bwa hahahaha).
