So over the past year I've found that I've changed a lot. This is inevitable as we are all constantly shedding our skins and growing them anew, but this time I feel it more than most. I nearly proposed to a woman out of love and subsequently lost that love; became disillusioned with philosophy only to discover what it really means to me; made one ( Read more... )

I hope you don't mind a comment from a scattermind vagabond soul!

Your philosophical insights are, without a doubt, a breath of fresh air to this lowly undergrad. You bring a certain air of poesis to your posts that falls neither into the camps of bombast pretentiousness nor analytic pedantry. Would you mind at all adding me back? I think I would be at the losing end of the bargain if I were deprived of your posts (my own posts are a combination of drunken idiocy and random stupidity, but I promise that they're infrequent).

I so you've unmased the real Heidegger, eh? oh well, just don't tell.

I appreciate your compliment a great deal, thank you! You'll have to forgive me if I wait to get to know you a bit more before I add you back: the stuff behind friends filters at this point is usually a bit too personal.

since the majority of folks who replied to this are not on my list at this point, I will most likely not simply stop posting publically, so if you want to read and comment then perhaps we can establish a rapport.

So how do you find Carbondale?

That's perfectly understandable. I can reassure you that I'm not a drunken Deleuzian, though (I'm guessing that substance abuse of some sort is a prerequisite for becoming a Deleuzian. I'm kidding of course; for the most part).

Hooray!

So how do you find Carbondale?I've actually just transfered here from the University of Missouri - Columbia as a junior, but I've actually lived around Carbondale all of my life. Southern Illinois has its fair share of racist dipshits, but Carbondale is and always has been a ( ... )

My friend Matthew just won a fellowship to go for his PhD at Carbondale for next year. He's a good guy, friendly and kind. If you run into him, it'll be worth saying hello. He'll probably write his dissertation with Steinbock.
