Exhaustion sets ins

Well, I had a rought day. In order to divert myself, I set myself to translating Seu Jorge's lyrics to David Bowie's "Life on Mars" as appearing in Life Aquatic. Armed with naught but my knowledge of Spanish and French grammar (believe it or not, the French was helpful) and a faithful Portuguese dictionary, I have rendered them thusly:

When there are things of which the heart does not gain understanding
And the mind neither questions the heart
Nor has the strength to obey it,
How many dreams I already have destroyed
and have allowed to escape through my hands!
If the future thus allows it,
I do not intend to live in their passing.
My love, we are not alone,
the world has to hope for us
In the infinity of the blue sky,
That we can have a life on Mars.
Here on Mars, my love gives me her language
Then I want softly to embrace
Her power that comes from the sun,
My measure.
Then we go to live the life
Then, if I do not come to lose who I am,
I’ll come to love changing myself for a Life On Mars

When there are things of which the heart does not gain understanding,
What the mind does not question,
Nor has the strength to obey,
How many dreams I have already destroyed
and have allowed to escape through my hands!
If the future thus allows it,
I do not intend to live in their passing.
My love, we are not alone,
the world has to hope for us
In the infinity of the blue sky,
That we can have a life on Mars.
Here on Mars, my love gives me her language
Then it happens that if I do not come to love who I am,
Her power comes from the Sun,
My measure.
Then we come to live a beautiful life,
if I do not come to lose who I am,
I’ll come to love changing myself for a Life On Mars

It's a bit sloppy at points, but I am too tired to work on it any further. If you want the original, I can supply it. There is a recurring idiom of "Então vem" that I do not recognize. Então means "then" and vem is the third person singular of the verb "to come", but I fear this sheds little light on the subject. I'm going sleepy now, hopefully tomorrow's moods will match the weather (and it will be sunnynicebeautiful!!!)
