I can't wait to get out of here.
Out of this house. Away from my brother. He treats me like an abusive boyfriend treats his bitch. Away from the nothing I have here. Somewhere where I can talk places, do things.
This weekend was amazing. I fall more in love with Zach every time we do stuff like that. On Thursday night, we checked into the most ridiculous hotel I've ever seen in my life. One night there cost more than Zach makes in two months...more than we spend on a week in a hotel somewhere. His dad was all "it's REALLY cheap, we're getting a great deal!". Well, I guess for the quality of it and the location of it, yeah, that's true.
The hotel was basically made for horny 18-30 year olds. There was a portrait of Kurt Vonnegut on our wall. There was a vibrator we could buy, next to the 50$ bottle of champagne. A bar on the ceiling open til 4am...Tom Petty played in the lobby.
Dinner was great. I am, finally, feeling more comfortable with his family, more comfortable ordering an appetizer that costs more than my food budget for the week. I think his Dad was really happy with his birthday. He was proud of Zach and Allie, in love with Carol, excited for the apartment. The food was great. The ice cream was great. Spiced banana macadamia ice cream. Then we met Shaul and Mel at rice to riches and I felt like a kid getting away with something because I had two desserts. I love them. I love everyone.
Friday we went to the walk through, met this great Jamaican guy. I really want Allie to date him, or Mel. His name was Rick. He was 23, just got his real estate license. The apartment was great. After the renovations it's going to be worth a fortune. Zach and I laid on the bare floor, playing trivial pursuit on his cell phone, I won. The doorman was named Mohammad. He was great. Everyone is great there. We finally saw David again. I love David. I love everyone.
Went to the museum of natural history...saw a show at the planetarium. I love planetariums. We saw stuffed animals...coyotes and owls and armadillos and baby skunks, all my favorites. And dinosaurs, we saw dinosaurs. We checked our coats for free because the girl's boss had left. We went to David's parents apartment. He had a leather bound copy of every book I've ever heard of in his library. We talked about what we're gonna name our kids in the cab. David talked about his pitch for a Jurassic Park TV show (for a class). Shaul left to see the NY Philharmonic. Mel left to have dinner with her cousin who looks like Nick Lachey and his indian girlfriend, Jasmine. We went to dinner with Zach's parents and Allie. I had quail. Zach had a lamb burger. I love lamb, I don't care how cute they are. I love everything.
On the train, we joked about the most irritating human being ever to grace the planet sitting across from us.
I won't talk about once we got home :(
Now I'm in pajamas, tired from the meds I decided to stop taking. I don't need that shit. Maybe I'll sell it. Maybe not.
Job applications go in monday/tuesday.
I'll finish my essay this weekend hopefully,
get the paperwork filled out, hopefully.
Maybe.
We might go see Benjamin Button tonight.
The future is uncertain, dangerous, frightening. But I am not alone.
