Thanks to my working as a teaching assistant both semesters last year, we were just able to pay off the last of Kogarashi's student loans. We are now debt-free* individuals, at least until we take out a mortgage (probably not for a few more years, until we actually settle somewhere). I wish this meant more money in our monthly budget, but since my income ebbs and flows with teaching, it just means that we no longer have to draw from the savings I accumulated last year to make ends meet. Ah well; at least the loans are taken care of. Huzzah!
*The credit card doesn't count since we pay it off each month; it's basically just to save paperwork.
