I guess there are two possible music-related reactions when people are sad. Some choose to listen to sad music, music that goes with the way they feel. Others look for something that will cheer them up. I'm on the second group too for sure! Or, just like you, I often don't listen to music if I'm sad (in part because I don't even feel like deciding what to listen to.

The Black Parade doesn't depress me or make me sad (except for Cancer), but I don't think of it as an album that will make me feel better either (although many fans do). I agree Danger Days is the best for that. Revenge also cheers me up. It has its tragic songs, but it's all more...fiction, doesn't make me think of real life problems. And well, it has some fun songs to dance and sing along to! Bullets...I don't relate it to any particular emotion as a whole, depends on the song.

Danger Days has been my go-to album when I'm depressed but need to feel capable of kicking some ass. Or just running basic errands. :)

I also avoid sad or down songs when I am feeling that way already - I go for my happy music playlist instead! So yes, I also have a list of MCR songs I tend to skip and ones that make me do the happy dance instead!

Keeping up with you and Raina on these posts is hard! But so glad to see you both and I am LOVING these recs and reasons!!!!
