Craigslist isn't bleeding money like a stuck and been in an downward spiral for years.
Yahoo was the dominant engine once upon a time, Google ate their lunch. Yahoo has a variety of great holdings such as groups, mail, and search, not to mention a reasonably solid brand. They also are inovating, but Amazon, Google, even eBay and Craigslist are beating them at every turn. The yahoo platform is dangerous since they are unstable, meanwhile Amazon and Google are rolling out clustered hosting.
Yahoo needs to get smarter and fast and they need to do it yesterday. They lack the funds, and to an extent the leadership, to do it.
MS has essentially failed to make a run online, regardless of the amount of money they throw at the issue. Yahoo has the goods, but no money or solid leadership. The partnership could be good for both and bolster innovation _if_ it is done right. Either way, Yahoo is on the ropes and fading.
i keep referring to the new album as being geniusly mediocre. compared to what crap is being put out there now (and the fact that its trent) its genius but for trent, its rather mediocre. i don't even really listen to it and if i am its mainly for the first 4 songs. i think had he worked on it for even another month prior to releasing, my response to it would be different. ::shrugs:: i don't know. :)
