i haven't blogged properly in a long time, so just let me rant.

something amazing happens when you slave for internship for that tiny amount of allowance at the end of month.

you stop caring about THE money! Cuz it's too little to make a difference in the first place.
it's like the primary motivation to work just goes up into thin air.

and you find that you're doing OT not because you are hoping for some extra allowance. or that you are motivated to stretch an hour more just so as to hit the sweet $9/hr spot.

you find that you're doing OT on your own accord; just because you feel like you need to complete your tasks. your tasks; not anyone else.

i hear that tiny victory bell ringing inside of me whenever I receive a call from someone asking for Ella, or faxing a note with ATTN: Ella Han on it or sending a mail to my personal email on friday night asking for help with a logo. Yesterday, I heard my supervisor on the phone with Mr Yap clarifying again and again, "I'm not Ella, I'm Wendy. Ella is my colleague. You're speaking to Wendy!"

I was so amused... sitting quietly on the other end of the department. C:

These few weeks have been pretty good, cuz the bosses start to have more respect for me and stopped being condescending towards me. They actually listen instead of doubting what I say. my goodness, finally.

maybe i was starting to show more self-confidence.  :]

the next week is going to be dreadfully long. I have to do OT for 2 hours everyday, without getting paid. All in the name of Cards Asia 2009 exhibition that's going to be held 2 weeks from now.

I have so much unproclaimed respect for Terrapinn and the way they do things. The people are so homogeneous, the data, the organization, the planning. The people think so collectively like a single organism. The immense amounts of data are so made of organizational WIN. I had to click on 8 folders on top of one another on the P:/ drive. JUST to get into that exhibitor logos folder.

When I saw my boss had all files containing different names in a folder named like " Nguyen Thanh Linh - Cards Asia 2009 IVS Form " "Alexandra Rossinsky - Cards Asia 2009 IVS Form"  hello, you know how anal the person is when she uses space-dash-space.

It was WIN for me. I thought my sister and I were the only ones on earth who named organized our mp3 files like that.

this week is so jam packed with post-work activities.
on monday, I did my OT so I can come to work later on next tuesday,
so that I can organize a fyp meeting on wednesday after work,
so that i'm free to leave work at 6 on thursday after work to rush to malaysia
and finally, thus tuesday (today) which my plan to deal and purchase a 50mm 1.4 after work to bring to malaysia and shoot would go according to plan, because wed and thurs i will have other plans. :D

if i didn't plan to do OT on monday, the subsequent meshing of plans will have to be revamped.
YES. You can't follow no? I get a kick out of planning complicated routines on top of one another, counter-effecting before and after, tussling back and forth. fine fine, you get it. :P

YES oh Yes. My newly bought 50mm 1.4 Lens.
I swear to all the gods in the world, that I won't purchase another lens not for a YEAR at least. (PLS DADDY DONT SELL YOUR SIGMA 24-70 LENS. I NEED IT SO BAD) if you sell, the gods will punish me for going back on my promise!

I shall name my 50mm 1.4 lens BLACK KITTY
because I am the third user of a 6 months old - almost mint condition lens that is hardly used.

it's sad. the first user bought it, only to buy a more powerful 50mm 1.2 and sell it after 3 mths of using.
the second user bought it, only to use two times before buying a more powerful 85mm 1.8.

so i'm the third user of poor abandoned black kitty. who has been tossed back and forth by rich idiots who clearly are too fickle and lazy to plan their photography budget.

OK, black kitty is sucha a bad rip-off name. I shall think of a better one.

photography: 50mm 1.4, state of mind: omg!rants, moneybyebye, work, plans
