i've found my niche in the summer sun;

the start of summer 2009 has been a success. my promise to myself to do something fun everyday has been working out wonderfully.
thus far:
-i've been hiking tons and spending a lot of time outdoors like i had hoped; it's definitely nice to be outside and away from a television or a computer for a change. i'm most assuredly tired of that and am trying to reduce my time doing these things and replace them with more important and meaningful activities.
-i've traveled a little bit; even just around kentucky is a nice change of scenery. visiting rachel and taking a mini-roadtrip with jason to the vintage thrift mall were totally worth the 50.00 i apprehensively spent in gas.
-i've learned a lot; thanks to stumbleupon and national geographic, i've learned about space, asteroids, the middle east and southwest asia (and am able to identify all the countries, states, republics, territories, etc. in that region), moscow, photography, and other fun random things.
-i've owned downtown somerset via bike (accompanied by jason on skateboard). one of the best times i've had in a long time.
-i have been eating out less and cooking at home a lot more; as a result i've become a better cook, and have spent more quality time with friends over cooking together. jason and aaron and i made an amazing pizza and some turkey burgers with tiff's recipe, which i also shared with jasmine.
-i have goofed off in louisville with will, watched my girl rian start her life, and enjoyed being in the country under the stars at will's aunt's.
-i've spent many warm nights drinking wine and smoking cloves with my sister, whom i adore, and our will-counterparts (ha). we have had amazing conversations, hilarious laughs, seen the moonbow, acted a fool (maybe that was just me..?), been creeped out by a strange caveman (no,really), and spent a ton of time just sitting on the front porch enjoying being together. i couldn't ask for more.
-i've enjoyed ryan atwood's back porch, fire, and amazing company at least once every week. along with will and matt bastin, we've made ground-breaking realizations, had amazing existential discussions, grilled the best fajitas and ate the most awesome home made guacamole i've ever had, had several cloves, cups of coffee and glasses of beer, learned backgammon, started building will's chessboard, discovered our inner sherlock holmeses via 221B Baker Street, and made further plans for our future in Jacksonville together. ryan is someone i have consistently loved and been loved by, and i am so incredibly, inexplicably thankful i have been blessed to have he and kelli in my life.
-i have goofed off in bowling green with tiffany jo, my official partner in crime, and have watched her (and helped her) spend wayyy more money than necessary at forever 21.
-i have made new friends in julia and sara ross, and turns out, we have more in common than i ever would've guessed. accompanied by luke, will, and justin, we had a hilarious, sleepless, troublemaking night in russel springs, and i wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
-i have been to my first esbc vbs, and although it was short-lived, it still has been one of my favorite memories of the summer so far.
-i have exercised, tried to start eating organic (even if i am broke as all getout), and am on my way to giving myself a better nutritional and physical well-being, even if running and cardio does piss me off beyond all measure.
-i have volunteered a lot, not quite as much as i'd hoped, but some! and i'm continuing to look for more ways to bring the kingdom of God. if you know someone with a need, any need!, send them my way; i want to meet that need.

SO! so far so good, am i right? and i've probably even forgotten something..
still yet to come:
-camping with conley and eloise. and ryan. and luke. and whoever! (hit me up if you want to camp?!)
-hanging with the high school group.
-bowling green!
-hanging with kate and joey.
-alabama road trip COMING UP!
-BEREA DAY! with my winzel, whom I love. (and hopefully soon after a bowling green and russell co. day.) I am particularly looking forward to this.
-swimming at western place with morgan.
-visiting rachel in indy.
-BEACH next week with will's family!
-lake day with luke!
and hopefully tons, tons more tba.

needless to say, i'm pleased.
