misc updates
back from LA - it was fun to see my sister and her kids. my niece is pretty adorable and a total troublemaker, my nephew is still shy and kind of insecure.
I hate the city of LA, it seems to fake and foolish to me.
While I was gone I chipped away a little more at my reading list, finishing The Body Project which I enjoyed until the very end when the author goes on an anti teen mom spree... I also read Audre Lorde's Cander Journals - I love the way she writes, so poetic. And the best book of the trip was George Orwell's 1984 which is now one of my favorite books ever. So good in fact that I think I may need to read it again sometime soon.
We got in last night (We flew LA to Kansas City to Milwaukee to Madison) Madison looks totally amazing at sunset while flying by on the way to Milwaukee. Kind of makes me want to reconsider settling down here some day.
I'm doing a major cleaning/tossing of my room- today I found a bunch of floppy disks and tapes - hello old age. I don't know if we even have technology in the house that can use either of those, haha. I'm also working on slimming down my massive book collection and I have a bag of lightely used stuffed animals to donate somewhere.
The work is far from done but it makes a good summer project. And I found my glasses case that I lost about three days after getting new glasses. w00t!
